I have enjoyed juices made from kale, lemon, ginger, and apple for several years now. However, I don’t enjoy the clean up that my juicer requires. One common question that I get is, “What do you think of juicing?” A fresh juice can be delicious and refreshing. However, when you use a juicer, you’re removing all the wonderful fiberĀ inĀ fruits and vegetables! I would much rather prefer people get their fruits and veggies in smoothie form, or just eat the fruits and veggies in their natural state! Otherwise, you’re basically getting a lot of sugar!

Back to my smoothie…I was recently given a ninja professional blender series, which comes with a blender, food processor, and 2 small to-go blender containers. I decided I would try my favorite juice as a smoothie!

This is a super easy smoothie that has really spicy, bright flavors. You can even pack the smoothie ingredients in containers to pop in the fridge until your ready to make your smoothie! Note: if you have an aversion to certain textures, this may not be the best smoothie for you! You’re going to want a good blender to get the kale and apple peels nice and smooth!

Pop all the ingredients into your blender cup: baby kale, apple, apple juice, lemon juice, fresh ginger, and ice. Blend it all up until smooth, and you’re good to go!

Green Smoothie with Lemon and Ginger


1 cup baby kale

1 apple, diced

1/2 cup apple juice

Juice from 1/2 lemon

1-2 Tbsp minced fresh ginger



Place all ingredients into a blender. Blend until smooth. Enjoy!

If you decide to pack the ingredients ahead of time, make sure the apples are sitting at the bottom of the container, along with the apple and lemon juices to keep them from browning.
